pathways of language learning:
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT WAYS TO LEARN A SECOND LANGUAGE?
To continue my research on language learning, I was put in a group with three other students to further develop our ideas and to answer an even bigger question regarding multilingualism. Our goal was to figure out the best way to learn a second language, whether it is through immersion or classroom learning. Our aim was to discover the tools of language learning by comparing and analyzing the pathways of specific individuals. On this site, you will find four interviews that we have conducted over the last few weeks that help us focus on all the ways of learning new languages, including through immersion and classroom learning. We explored this topic through interviews and research of scholarly articles.

He has experienced both learning French in a classroom and an immersion setting, and he has a very interesting outlook on his learning experiences. Adam is enthusiastic about French as he shares his personal story while he also comments on the more specific benefits of being able to really, truly understand and speak a language. Adam has gained such insight on the power of being able to speak, think, and understand in two languages. Watch his interview to learn more about which experience has really helped him develop his French language abilities and how he became such a fantastic multilingual speaker!
